ER Doc Salaries in Winnipeg touch $500K !
Supply and Demand Laws at work again ! Physician paucity in Winnipeg, MB (Canada) has led to some big-ticket jumps in ER doc salaries to prevent them from being pulled away by other employers. Figures released by Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WHRA) show that some docs enjoyed a salary jump as high as 178% in a year, pushing their salaries higher than the top paid administrators.Their top earning ER Doc salaries for 2008 ran like this (Canadian Dollars):

Hmm...I am just thinking alound here - you dont have to read this ...many Internal medicine residents in US often moonlight (i.e. work extra hours beyond their regular residency hours) as ER docs in local area hospitals and can make $1000 - $3000 in a single weekend. Some Family Medicine residents choose to work as ER physicians in their initial young years, make the $$$ and then move to office practice setting later on ..ER shifts can be good quick money
