Dr. House Salary : $480,000/- (USD) Per Episode !

It pays much more to act like a Physician on the TV screen that to be one ;-). Hugh Laurie, the British actor who plays Dr. House, a brilliant Infectious Disease Specialist and Medicine diagnosis guru on the hot American Medical Drama "House", reportedly makes about US $480,000 Per episode ! (or 240,000 UK Pounds)

Earlier on this article, I had put the figure as $300,000 per episode - but that was in 2006 (150,000 UK Pounds per episode)

That's not even what a real-life Infectious Disease Specialist makes per year in America .. he he

As the celebrity gossips go, Hugh's huge salary came at a price ..putting his health and marriage under strain. Read more here

Is he a Physician ? No - He's a Comedian, actor and a writer
Is he American ? No - He's British

You know, I am a surgeon, and I once made about 600,000 per year, and for that I billed about 2 million that year. Now my office bills about a million 200,000 and we get about 760,000. My staff is stretched, and I am getting older and tired and pretty grumpy.

I pay about 40,000 in liability insurance per year and pay an additional 16,000 in casualty insurance per year.

It took me years to get to where I could make money. Working nights weekends holidays and put a strain on my health and on my family life.
My dentist colleagues do not take call and do not see patients who do not pay.
My banker is not happy if I am slow paying.

Dr House is a brilliant actor, and besides he has my limp that my bum knee gives me down to a science. He doesnt seem to be worried that he is paid less if he does surgery than if he just does office work, and that his second or third procedure is discounted by 50% or written off all together. His grocer seems to get paid for the second and third bottle of wine the same as they charge and they don't have to discount the second steak at all either.

Dr House is a great character.
Hugh Laurie is a brilliant actor.
I usually hate doctor shows.

My son is a brilliant actor and some day I hope he can be on stage on Broadway (his dream) or perhaps on camera beside Hugh Laurie playing just another doctor.

I'm glad Hugh gets paid. I'm glad my grocer gets paid.
I'm glad my gas station guys get paid.

I'm tired of everyone thinking I make too much money and I can afford not to get paid.
